They are a sensation in the Netherlands and becoming more and more known to the international music world. There they have played for the queen, performed in prestigious concert halls and have appeared on television talk shows and in documentaries. They released a CD on the Deutsche Grammophon label, playing Beethoven piano sonatas.The Jussen brothers made their U.S. debut in 2010 playing Mozart´s Concerto for two Pianos with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
Lucas and Arthur Jussen started in their early years as pianists. They come from a musical family: their mother is a flute teacher and their father plays in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra as a timpanist and percussionist.
The brothers are students of the renowned Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires that appeared in concert just recently in Harpa and played the Piano Concerto nr 4 in G- major by Beethoven in a very memorable performance. In 2006 they played at the age of ten and thirteen with the Radio Kamer Filharmonie Mozart’s Concerto for two pianos KV 365.In March 2010 the brothers signed a contract with the prestige record label Deutsche Grammophon.
They are popular Dutch radio- and television shows and received a gold music prize at ‘De Wereld Draait Door’, even before their album officially was released.
In this concert they will perform works by Schubert including the beloved Fantasie in f-minor for four hands.
