Lucas and Arthur Jussen – one of the most promising young piano duos – play Maurice Ravel’s “Ma Mère l’Oye”, presenting sensitively and delicately as well as with routine the fine and colorful structures of these pieces for children. They made you want to bathe in this tone fairy-tale full of sensuousness and transparency. Harmony and profundity demonstrate the paradox of these virtuoso pieces for children. Lucas and Arthur Jussen are also the soloists in Colin McPhee’s quirky “Tabuh-Tabuhan”. The three-movement work is titled “Toccata for Orchestra and Two Pianos”.
